AGAPE and Joshua Tree are hosting a fundraising dodgeball tournament on Sunday, March 4, 2012, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:0 0 p.m. at the A.R.C.H. Center, 1550 W. Colter, Phoenix, AZ. Registration is $125 per team, and a team consists of 6 persons and 2 alternates. Individual registration is $25 per person. Teams must register by February 26, 2012. AGAPE Network provides food boxes twice a month and emergency food boxes as needed. The food boxes contain products from each of the five food groups of the USDA MyPlate icon (formerly the Food Pyramid): frozen meats; fresh produce; canned fruits, vegetables, and proteins; dairy products; and grains. The food boxes also contain nutritional information sheets that clients can collect and use as a resource. With a good selection of wholesome food and nutritional information, clients will be better able to make healthy eating choices and prepare healthy meals. In addition, one Friday a month there is a nutritionist from Southwest Center on site and available for consultation. ... more

AGAPE had a booth at Phoenix Pride again this year where we conducted our "one person one day" campaign. Hundreds of people stopped by to donate to help provide food for our clients, to get information about our services, and to inquire about volunteer opportunities in the community. AGAPE Network had a team of volunteers, friends, and supporters walking in AIDSWalk 2011 on October 2. Congratulations to our two team dogs, Mia, who was ranked 10th, and Cleopatra, who ranked 18th, in their fundraising efforts in the pet category!! Every step did count, so thanks to all of you who supported us!! We will be back again next year to walk and raise money for awareness, education, and support in the HIV community.
